nutrition counseling ~
Nutrition with Riley provides virtual and in-person outpatient nutrition counseling services in Wilmington, North Carolina. If you are interested in taking the next step towards pursing your nutrition goals, learn how to fuel your body, and find joy in food again, nutrition counseling with a Registered Dietitian is a great place to start.
I take Aetna and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. If I am not in network with your insurance, Nutrition with Riley is happy to provide you with a superbill for services, which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement using out of network benefits.
IMPORTANT: Not all insurance plans cover nutrition counseling, and it is ultimately the clients responsibility to know what their plan covers.
PLEASE NOTE: a super bill does not guarantee reimbursement for services, it varies plan to plan. Click HERE for a script on how to contact your insurance about your out of network benefits.
Nutrition counseling is the ONLY service at Nutrition with Riley that can be covered by insurance.
Nutrition counseling begins with a 60-90 minute intake session where we will discuss your nutrition goals in depth. At our intake session, you can expect:
An in-depth review of your relationship with food over the course of your life, medical history, and what your current intake looks like.
Goal setting
An initial "meal plan" that lays out what an "ideal" day of eating would look like for your body*
Follow up appointments are generally biweekly to start, but frequency will depend largely on client preference and dietitian’s recommendations. At followups, you can expect:
exploring any struggles that you’ve experienced between sessions
going further in depth about certain nutrition education topics
setting goals to help make nutrition easier and more accessible to you
I offer FREE 15 minute meet and greet calls prior to intake to discuss goals and ensure that we will be a good fit.
Self-pay rates for nutrition counseling:
Intake (97802): $150, 75-90 minutes
30 minute followup (97803): $100
60 minute followup (97803): $200
For those who don’t have/cannot use their insurance, Nutrition with Riley offers a cash pay discount as well as sliding scale spots for individual nutrition counseling.

In addition to nutrition counseling, Nutrition with Riley offers coaching as an option to make care more comprehensive.

discussion of what your history in treatment has looked like & what did and did not work for you
Offerings include:

Meal prepping: 2-2.5 hours
Clothes shopping*: 2 hours
