about me

I’m Riley, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I grew up in the finger lakes region of New York and completed my education in Buffalo, NY, but now call Wilmington, NC, home.

In college, I completed my graduate research on disordered eating and ADHD in college age young adults, and was able to complete training in a wide variety of specialites, but my heart has always been in the behavioral health side of nutrition care, specifically helping clients navigate and improve their relationship with food. I am firmly Health at Every Size aligned and LGBTQIA+ affirming provider.

My journey in this field has been shaped by my own journey in life. I have a deep passion for helping others uncomplicate their relationship with food. We all have so much going on, and being at war with our bodies is exhausting.

After hours, you’ll find me spending time outside, roller skating, reading, spending time with loved ones, or eating at one of Wilmington’s MANY phenomenal restaurants.

Nutrition with Riley’s Values:

Health at Every Size & Weight Inclusivity:

  • Weight is one marker of health, it is not the end all be all.  Health can be pursued at any body size.

Equity:

  • Nutrition care is a privilege that is inaccessible to many. As a result, Nutrition with Riley is proud to offer free resources, handouts, and a limited number of sliding scale spots for individual counseling.

Collaborative Care:

  • I believe in a collaborative care model.  That means that your dietitian is a member of your healthcare team and will work with your doctor(s), therapist, etc. to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Trauma Informed Care:

  • I strive to create an environment of safety and non-judgment in my practice, and my ultimate goal in counseling is to help clients feel empowered to have a voice in their care.

Licenses/Credentials:

  • Committee on Dietetic Registration: Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

  • North Carolina Board of Dietetics & Nutrition: Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist
